Nail Art 101: Floral Nails

Hello everyone :D Today I bring part 1 of my Nail Art 101 guide. I'l be giving a run down of how to do floral nails ^-^

I love floral nails, like really love them, as seen in the mass amount of manicures I do with floral designs such as this one:

They can turn your mani from cute and preppy, to classy and sassy. You'll also be pleased to know that they are actually really easy to do.

So stay tuned and read on to learn how to achieve the perfect flower manicure.

Today, I will be providing some cliparty diagrams in as much detail as possible, hopefully it'll be easier to follow.

Stuff You'll Need:
1. Nail Polish (of course)
2. Tin foil (to put your paint on)
3. Dotting Tools

BUT WAIT, WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A DOTTING TOOL?!
Fret not, there are a lot of perfect alternatives to a dotting tool:
1. Bobby Pins
Use the rounded bits as indicated by the arrows
2. The rounded end of a paintbrush.

3. A nifty DIY dotting tool is a pin pushed into the eraser of a pencil

4. Of course, you can also continue to use toothpicks

The 5 Petal Flower
I use the 5 petal flower so much in my mani, because it literally fits on any length of nail.

There are a few types of flowers you can draw, depending on your preference, you can draw flower with petals that are a tiny bit apart like this:

For the duration of this tutorial, this is known as 'Style #1'

The other way (my personal favourite) is to draw your petals jussstttt touching each other like this:

For the duration of this tutorial, this is known as 'Style #2'

Style #1 Tutorial:
1. Place your 1st dot on your nail, this will act as the 'top' petal.

2. Place a 2nd dot on the left/right of the 'top' petal

3. Place a 3rd dot on the other side (left/right) of the top nail.

NOTE: For best results, make sure the 3rd dot is approximately opposite the 2nd dot.

4. Place a 4th dot on bottom left/right, ensure it is as close as you would like to the 3rd petal.

5. Place a 5th dot on the bottom left/right that is as close as you would like to the 4th petal.

6. Take your 'centre' colour and place a larger dot in the middle, ensuring it is touching all the petals.

Check out the GIF below that I put together showing you all 6 of the steps :)

Style #2 Tutorial:
1. Place your 1st dot on your nail, this will act as the 'top' petal.

2. Place a 2nd dot on the left/right and just touching the top petal.

3. Place a 3rd dot on the other side (left/right) just touching the top petal.

NOTE: For best results, make sure the 3rd dot is approximately opposite the 2nd dot.

4. Place a 4th dot on bottom left/right, ensure it is touching the 3rd petal.

5. Place a 5th dot on the bottom left/right that is touching the 4th petal.

6. Take your 'centre' colour and place a larger dot in the middle, ensuring it is touching all the petals.
